Slumdog Millionaire

In the year 2000, the face of Indian Television changed single handedly by a show that had the whole nation glued to their TV sets every evening. The show was Kaun Banega Crorepati the licensed version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire', and it was first hosted by India's biggest superstar, Amitabh Bachchan. Today, nine years later the show still plays a pivotal role, this time not on television but in Hollywood. Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire uses the show as the turning point in his plot.

KBC went on for 3 super hit seasons with Big Synergy as the producer. When Danny Boyle decided to use the Indian version of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' for his film, he approached India's original quiz master, Siddhartha Basu.

Basu, director and creative head of Big Synergy has trained the likes of Bachchan and SRK in the art of quizzing. For Slumdog Millionaire, it was no different. He trained Anil Kapoor, who plays the role of quiz master in the film, in the nuances of quizzing, game play and interaction with the contestant.

Apart from this, Big Synergy's team helped set up the show for film version. This involved everything from sets, to lighting and game play. For Big Synergy it has been another great experience to have contributed to arguably the most talked about film of the year.
