Kaun Banega Crorepati

In its fast paced avatar, BIG Synergy's Kaun Banega Crorepati brings back the iconic Amitabh Bachchan as host of the highest rated non-fiction show of Indian television history. With new lifelines, a ticking clock and more money to be won, the latest Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, returns to give the common man another chance to make it big with their favourite Bollywood star.

The series also has special celebrity episodes in the Hot Seat format, where six celebrities play on a rotational basis, making it greater fun to participate and even more exciting to watch.

Kaun Banega Crorepati is being aired on Sony Entertainment Television at 9 pm, Monday to Thursday.

Sports Ka Superstar

A BIG Synergy format, Sports ka Superstar served as a precursor to the Commonwealth Games in New-Delhi in October 2010.

Hosted by the vivacious Mini Mathur, 200 quizzers took the roles of khiladis (players) on Sports ka Superstars, displaying their knowledge of sports and challenging their fellow competitors to a fight to the finish. The challengers stood to win up to Rs.1,00,000 prize money.

A 26-episode quiz series, Sports Ka Superstar was aired on DD 1, Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 pm.

Bollywood ka Boss

India's Child Genius - The search for India's Smartest Kid

On Star World, a show that brought together the sharpest young minds between the age of ten and thirteen in the entire country, every week, a nationwide search to find India's Smartest Kids.

The show was hosted by Siddhartha Basu and produced by Synergy.

The contest provided a platform for the brightest pre-teen academic achievers in the country, who were tested not just on general knowledge, but also on verbal and non-verbal reasoning, maths, science, history, natural world, geography, mythology, literature, English language and spelling.

The aim of the contest was to showcase the brightest young minds in the country in a contest for the title of India's Child Genius. Other than the title, on offer was a share of prizes worth more than Rs. 50 lakhs.

University Challenge

University Challenge, telecast on BBC World, had a successful running over 2 series.

University Challenge was a prime time, elimination quiz show for top university college teams across India who vied for top honours in a head to head challenge with opponent college teams. An institution, University Challenge has been running on BBC, Britain for the last 40 years as the licensed version of the American game format, College Bowl.

Structure

Each episode of University Challenge featured 2 teams of 4 members each.

A typical question answer sequence comprised of a 'Starter' question, which was open to all 8 contestants. Whichever contestant buzzes in the answer to the 'Starter' question correctly, his/her team is asked 3 linked bonus questions, of a specified subject field. This sequence of question answers will be repeated as many numbers of times as the duration of the episode (i.e. 26 minutes) permits.

The series covered the gamut of sports, theatre, technology, industries, films, music, dance, science & medicine, television, advertising, art & literature, destinations, cuisine and many more areas.

Howzatt Concept Note

An original Synergy format, produced for Tara Bangla. The format is based on the One Day International cricket format with lots of energy and emotions. This game show was produced in Bengali for an audience of West Bengal (India) and Bangladesh.

Kaun Banega Crorepati with superstar Amitabh Bachchan in his first venture as a TV host, was simply the biggest interactive show in the history of Indian television, with the highest rewards ever offered in an ongoing countrywide contest.

The contest was open to members of the viewing public in India, who had to qualify through 2 levels of a telephone quiz to get through to the TV stage of the contest.

Kaun Banega Crorepati 3

Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), the biggest interactive show in the history of Indian television, has resumed telecast, with Bollywood's biggest superstar Shah Rukh Khan replacing Hindi cinema icon Amitabh Bachchan as host.  

The show has been slotted in the 9 pm prime time band and will air Monday through to Thursday every week, the same as was the case when KBC first came on air. The prize money remains the same as KBC 2- a whopping Rs. 2 crores!
