10 Ka Dum
An adaptation of the American format Power of 10, 10 ka Dum was launched on Indian television in June 2008. Marking the debut of quirky superstar Salman Khan as a TV host, 10 ka Dum tested the contestants' grasp of the nation's pulse.
As a lifeline, the contestants had access to an audience poll from the studio audience and could also discuss each question with their companions. With the game having only 5 questions and the money increasing ten-fold with each question, the temptation to keep playing was compelling.
Featuring 31 episodes, the first season of 10 ka Dum was telecast on Sony Entertainment Television, Fridays and Saturdays, at 9 pm.
The inimitable Salman Khan returned to Indian TV screens in 2009 with the second season of 10 ka Dum. This season upped the glamour quotient by many notches. Opening with song and dance acts, celebrity contestants played on in an attempt to guess correctly what the rest of India had estimated.
10 ka Dum (Season 2) was aired on Sony Entertainment Television at 9 pm, featuring 21 episodes.
